Hold up, Geoff Rowley on Toy Machine? Thought we were being punk’d at first, but no, it's legit! The skateboarding world is buzzing as Geoff Rowley joins the bloodsucking company Toy Machine and we are hyped!
A skate legend
From Liverpool, England, Geoff Rowley is one of the greats the sport has seen. His fearless style, jaw-dropping video parts and boundary-pushing tricks have inspired skaters around the globe for many years. Rowley is the epitome of skate culture, always pushing the limits both on and off his board.
An epic friendship
Over twenty years ago, a young Geoff Rowley landed in Huntington Beach and found a mentor in the legendary Ed Templeton. Fast forward a couple of decades, and their friendship has brought Rowley to Toy Machine. Ed Templeton, the brain behind Toy Machine, couldn't be prouder to welcome Rowley to the team.
Rowley remembers, "Back in '92, Ed was riding for Television, and the board he brought to a rainy Liverpool demo was like a beacon to me. Twenty-six years later, I've chosen this graphic to honour our friendship and Ed's incredible influence on my skating."
Feast your eyeballs on the board
Rowley’s new deck is fire! And if Toy Machine’s latest video "Real Life Sucks" wasn’t already melting your brain, this news will definitely push you over the edge!
Rowley had this to say on Instagram:
"Thank you to the team at Toy Machine for the kind welcome! I will do my best to drain this carcass of every last drop of blood in pursuit of gnar skateboard tricks for the machine.
PS. I've known Ed and Deanna since I was a wee nipper fresh off the boat from Liverpool, England. I've always loved their company, friendship, taste in music, art, skating (Rollerskating for Deanna!), conversation, and many more notable and positive attributes.
Ed and I were better skaters when skating together. I believe it. It always felt right. Riding for Toy Machine feels right."
Toy Machine also had some thoughts:
"Ummmm, yeah. No need to adjust your eyes although you might need a slap in the face. This is happening. Geoff Rowley is officially brainwashed. The future is gonna be f*ed up."
