Today, the DC brand stands as a global company whose product line has expanded to include men's, women's and kids' skateboarding and lifestyle shoes, apparel, snowboards, snowboard boots, outerwear and accessories. As one of the cornerstones of its marketing strategy, DC has built a world-class team of professional skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross athletes who exemplify and enhance DC's brand, develop its signature products, and support its promotional efforts. DC Brand: DC History
DC was established in June 1994 by Damon Way, Ken Block, and Clayton Blehm in Carlsbad, California, and is now in Huntington Beach. Initially called "Droors Clothing," the brand rebranded to DC Shoes, Inc. after Droors was sold in 2004.
On March 8, 2004, Quiksilver acquired DC Shoes for $87 million. In 2010, the company moved to Quiksilver's Huntington Beach headquarters and released the video "Skateboarding Is Forever," showcasing skateboarders like Marquise Henry and Nyjah Huston. By 2013, most were professionally sponsored.
In 2011, DC refreshed its brand with a new logo and added new team members, including Mikey Taylor and Mike Mo Capaldi, later bringing on Felipe Gustavo.
